Une collaboration ProAm récompensée: Attribution du Prix Gemini 2022

Nous venons d'apprendre que nous étions les heureux lauréats du prix Gemini de la SF2A suite à la publication que nous avons déposée fin avril. C'est une très bonne nouvelle pour nous amateurs, mais également pour le professeur Quentin Parker qui nous soutient dans notre démarche. Notre programme nous a permis de découvrir de nombreux objets qui se sont avérés être de véritables nébuleuses planétaires, grâce à nos observations spectroscopiques.
Certains de ces objets sont réellement fantastiques et de toute beauté comme ceux découverts par Xavier et Marcel (lien vers le catalogue StDr). Nos observations spectroscopique nous ont également permis de dévoiler des objets inédits comme la supernova SN1181 (The Remnant and Origin of the Historical Supernova 1181 AD). Nous nous sommes déployés au Chili avec l'association 2SPOT (2spot.org) qui regroupe Olivier, Thomas, Lionel, Stéphane et moi-même, afin d'observer les candidates du sud. Enfin, nous entretenons un site internet (le site planetarynebulae.net, ici même) qui nous permet d’apporter de la transparence à nos travaux.
Cette récompense est le fruit d'une collaboration fructueuse entre découvreurs, observateurs et professionnels. Elle n'aurait jamais vu le jour sans la précieuse aide d'Agnès Acker voici déjà plus de 10 ans. Un grand merci à elle, nous lui devons ce prix.
We have just learned that we were the lucky winners of the Gemini prize of the SF2A following the publication that we submitted at the end of April. It is a very good news for us amateurs, but also for the professor Quentin Parker who supports us in our approach. Our program has allowed us to discover many objects that turned out to be real planetary nebulae, thanks to our spectroscopic observations.
Some of these objects are really fantastic and beautiful as those discovered by Xavier and Marcel (link to the StDr objects). Our spectroscopic observations have also allowed us to unveil new objects like the supernova SN1181 (The Remnant and Origin of the Historical Supernova 1181 AD). We went to Chile with the association 2SPOT (2spot.org) which gathers Olivier, Thomas, Lionel, Stéphane and myself, in order to observe the southern candidates. Finally, we maintain a website (the planetarynebulae.net website) that allows us to bring transparency to our work.
This award is the result of a fruitful collaboration between discoverers, observers and professionals. It would never have been possible without the precious help of Agnès Acker more than 10 years ago. A big thank you to her, we owe her this award.
The candidates are said to be "published" when they are the object of an official publication in VizieR and in the CDS of the University of Strasbourg.
